Have you ever experienced being called clingy in your relationship before? If you’ve only been called clingy by one or two people, then it might not really mean anything. However, if enough people have already accused you of being clingy, then this might be something serious that you really need to look into. A lot of times, what people consider to be “clingy” behavior is actually just relationship anxiety. And it’s definitely something that you want to address if you don’t want to end up pushing your partner away from you.
Relationship anxiety actually often comes from the trauma that is acquired through previous failed romances or toxic relationships. And it’s important that these negative and toxic thoughts be addressed so as to prevent the unnecessary decimation of a perfectly fine relationship. You don’t want to be putting your loving relationship at risk just because you left your relationship anxiety unresolved. This is something that you definitely want to combat head on.
And if you’re feeling lost in that regard, then this article is going to help you out with your situation. Here are a few things that you can do to help combat the relationship anxiety that you are feeling.
1. Strengthen the bonds of communication in your relationship.
Anxiety isn’t really something that you would be able to deal with purely on your own – most especially if it’s relationship anxiety. One of the best ways that you can quell the anxiety that you feel is to actually strengthen the bonds of communication that you have between you and your partner. When there are absolute openness and accessibility between the two of you, then there is very little that you would typically need to be anxious or worried about.
2. List down all of your positive traits and characteristics.
Sometimes, insecurities can be a driving force in inducing anxiety within a person. And if you have a lot of insecurities within you, it can be very difficult to overcome the anxiety that you’re feeling. So, if you want to address your insecurities, you might want to take some time to remind yourself of the many great aspects of your personality.
3. Don’t let jealousy consume you.
One of the biggest signs that you have relationship anxiety is that you act overly jealous and controlling of your partner. And you’re going to want to resist that urge as much as possible. You might think that holding on to your partner even tighter will make them stay with you. But you’re only going to end up driving them farther away from you.
4. Be supportive of your partner in the same manner that you are being supported.
You are going to need a lot of support from your partner as you try to deal with all of your anxiety. And if you have a partner who truly loves you, then that shouldn’t be a problem. He would definitely be willing to support you. However, he needs to feel the same kind of support from you as well. You need to be able to exude strength and confidence too.
5. Learn to be more trusting of your partner.
Trust is essential in any kind of relationship. But it’s even more important if you happen to be in a romantic relationship. There is no way you would be able to subdue your anxieties if you find yourself incapable of trusting your partner. Learn to always reassure one another of your commitment and your loyalty to the relationship. You have to trust that your partner loves you at all times.
6. Accept the things that are beyond your control.
There will be certain aspects of your life and your relationship that you wouldn’t really be able to control. And sometimes, when something is beyond your control, you can get really anxious about it. But you need to be able to let these things go. You need to accept that you have limitations and that you aren’t always going to be able to manipulate everything to your liking.
7. Breathe and meditate.
Sometimes, the answer to all of your problems can be found within. You would be surprised at how incredibly therapeutic and healing it can be to take some time to breathe and meditate. Even for just 5 minutes every single day, dedicate this time to just breathe and meditate. Release all of that negative energy within you so that it doesn’t end up consuming you.
8. Take some time to analyze the situation.
Take a long and hard look at the situation that you’re in. Gather some perspective. You might think that there are plenty of things that you should be worried about. But you will also find that there are plenty of reasons for you to be happy and at peace. You just need to focus on the more positive parts.
Being in a relationship is not all fun and games and not everyone gets lucky to find true love on the first attempt. More often than not, you have to deal with heartbreaks and deception and believe it or not everybody gets to experience a difficult partner at least once in their life. Cheating has become a status symbol these days. A person is not considered cool until he or she is dating at least 3 different partners at the same time. Here are a few signs that will help you figure out if you partner wants to cheat on you:
1. The disappearance:
They disappear often without letting you know about it. One day, you are all happy and comfortable with each other and the next morning they are gone. It is not like they cannot have their freedom or hang out with other people, but you will know your partner vanishes in thin air without even having an obvious reason. They would be unreachable for hours or even days and when they come back and you confront them, he/she will make the lamest excuse that you will not even understand. The worst part is that they will act like nothing happened and would be least concerned about your apprehension.
2. Checking the phone too often:
You will find them checking their phone way too much than before. They will even avoid picking up calls in front of you and will change the passwords too often. He or she will get defensive if you will take their phone from them and the typical parade of you don’t trust me enough to leave my phone alone will prevail. This is a classic sign of a person who either wants to cheat or is already cheating on their partner with someone else. You know about their social circle and you have never seen them texting so much before so it is worth noticing.
3. They come home angry and irritated
He or she steps into the house and everything seems irritating to them. Even the sight of you waiting for them does not invigorate any feelings of affection towards you. It seems like they just want to go back to where they came from or run away from this home and you because they hate it all. Just coming home angry, if not work related, is not OK. It could also indicate that they are doing something they shouldn’t and to provide a distraction, he or she lashes out in anger so as to throw you off track.
4. Spending too much time in the bathroom:
No no, it’s not what you think. They spend too much in the bathroom because they want to be alone and they can’t go out every 10 minutes to be away from you. Spending too much time brushing the teeth or taking really long baths indicate that they want to stay away from you for as long as possible without making it seem too obvious. If they are already cheating on you then he or she will take long frequent showers to remove any unrecognizable scent. This is also a way of feeling less guilty about their actions as water is a cleansing agent and it might wash away their sins.
5. They try their best to avoid meaningful conversations:
You start getting the silent treatment. They are not concerned about the future anymore and every time you want to have a conversation that is related to you two, they try their best to either divert it or completely ignore it. He or she does not want to talk much about anything anymore and you find them silent more often than before. The thing is that they do not want to share too much with you because sharing brings two people closer and they do not want that to happen now. All they want is you to leave them alone and not ask about things that he or she is not ready to answer because they will not in any case.
6. Sleeping earlier than before:
They start sleeping way earlier than before. One reason is to avoid having sex and the other is to have a good, long conversation because they do not want both to happen. Yes, getting free sex is a win-win but they are too guilty to take advantage. If he or she is already interested in someone else then they would not want to do anything with you that might give you the idea that your relationship is getting strengthened up. It is a natural phenomenon that couples become closer at night when there is intimacy and no worries about the work or people. So he or she will fall asleep way before their usual time to avoid getting close to you.
7. There are frequent fights over the slightest provocation
Where the used to be so calm and understanding before, there they fight on the minutest provocation. He or she really does need a solid reason to argue with you because they feel so irritated by your presence already that it is enough to trigger the rudeness. He or she literally does not care about what they say when they are angry and regard for your feelings is lost once they start talking their mind.
8. They start partying too much:
The sober, serious boyfriend/girlfriend of yours turns into a party freak. Before, you had to force them to go to clubs with you on the weekend and now they comes home drunk every other night. He/she likes to party a lot because they find and meet new and exotic people that way and has the most obvious source to cheat on you. They do not care about what you would think because as long as they are away from you and are surrounded by drunk guys and girls, life is all good for them. This way when others see them living the life of the perfect single guy/girl, why wouldn’t they hit on them?
9. The idea of threesome is born:
What a taboo in your relationship was before becomes an adventure to try now. They often talk about a third partner for a wild night. They keep insisting about thinking out of the box and ask you to consider it because this is the safest and most reliable way of cheating. You will be giving them permission to cheat on you with someone else and the worst part is that you will even be a very significant participant in it. He or she does not need to go behind your back because they can do it all right in front of you this way.
10. The affection fades away:
He/she gets ruthless at times. Sometimes all you need from your partner is some kindness and affection. If they stop being affectionate, know that there is something big going on along with you in their life. If they can see you get hurt without feeling the slightest empathy then they clearly do not care about you anymore. Gentleness is very important in a relationship and if they cannot be gentle to your feelings then it is a clear sign that he or she is into someone who is making them ruthless towards you.
11. They stop praising you:
No matter how hard you try at making yourself perfect for your partner, he/she will not praise you. Gone are the times when they used to spoil you with all the necessary perks. They do not even notice if you look different or get a haircut or lose weight. They are least bothered by your appearance now and the fact that you are doing all that just for them is unimportant to him/her. He or she does not want to give you any reason to hold on to them and they know that if they keep on ignoring these things you will eventually get tired and dump them. He/she wants to make sure that everything is convenient for them and they do not get to be blamed for leaving you in the end.
12. He checks out other girls in front of you:
He does not care that you are present with him when he checks out other girls. It is true that almost every guy checks out girls even when they are in a relationship but that usually does not mean anything and is a mere habit. But if he check others out right in front of you then it is obvious that he wants you to notice and make a fuss out of it giving him more reasons to leave you for someone else. He does not care if you feel bad when he looks at other girls who might be prettier than you because to him you should be the most beautiful girl in the world.
13. They flirt even when you are around:
Checking out is in the nature of every man but flirting is a bit extreme on both sides if you are already committed. Should they start hollering at girls in plain daylight while you’re next to him/her as though you’re not there, your partner is already on the prowl and there could be no reigning them in. It is best to leave them alone and do their thing because if he or she does it when you are with them then you will feel disrespected and where there is no respect there is no love. Just let them go and know that you deserve much better and more than this.
14. They come home too happy:
Even this can be dangerous because if he/she is usually bored in your company but comes home all happy and amused then it is possible that they are enjoying someone else’s company now. They stay quiet around you, sleep early at night and fight with you but every day when they come home they are too happy for words then if you do not understand what is going on, then you have a very thick skull. Being in a relationship requires attention from both sides, maybe you are not attentive enough to cater all their needs so start noticing before you lose your partner.
15. They find new hobbies:
Do not forget that couples try new things together and if your partner has a bunch of hobbies that do not include you then he/she has already decided to cheat on you. If they want to go to new places without you and meet new people who do not include you then of course they are looking for a way out and want to find someone else or already has found someone new that you should definitely not know about. Just remember that this is 21st century and you are not some damsel in distress who cannot figure out stuff and fight for your right.
Neither of you is excited about having a future together. You no longer talk about what it would be like to bring your relationship into the future. You don’t make plans for one another. You don’t have any particular goals or dreams for yourselves as a couple. You don’t even have a particular vision for your relationship. The both of you are just coasting along and riding the waves. You don’t really know where you’re going anymore.
2. You feel uncomfortable whenever you are both around other couples.
You both hate it whenever you are around other couples in love because you are reminded of everything that you could be but aren’t. When you’re with other happy and healthy couples, you are often exposed to their happy lives. And you hate how you’re no longer that happy with one another. You hate that other couples seem to be doing so fine, and here you are struggling to keep your practically dead relationship afloat.
3. You don’t say “I love you” as much as before.
When you’re in a healthy and happy relationship, it can be almost natural to just express your love and affection for one another. But the converse is also true, and that’s exactly what is taking place in your relationship right now. It’s almost natural in the way that you feel okay with the fact that you’re no longer expressing your love and affection to one another.
4. There is less communication in the relationship.
Communication is always going to be of utmost importance in any kind of relationship. When you communicate with one another, you connect and bone with each other. You get closer in your relationship the deeper you get in your discussions and conversations. And that’s why when the communication in your relationship drops, the level of intimacy and affection you have for one another is going to drop as well.
5. You feel like the relationship is more of a burden than a privilege.
You treat your relationship like a chore. It’s no longer a pleasure for you to be in your relationship. You are no longer happy to put in the work for your relationship. You are treating it like a job that you don’t want. You feel like your relationship is a burden that is holding you back from being happy. Your relationship no longer makes you feel fulfilled and content.
6. You criticize every little thing about each other.
In any kind of intimate relationship, criticism should always be welcome. However, when you criticize a person, you should only do so out of love. And you should always conduct yourself with utmost poise and sensitivity when criticizing another person. It’s the only way that you are going to be able to grow through your weaknesses to become better people. However, when your criticisms are merely masking for insults, then you know that your relationship has little to no love left in it.
7. You daydream about being with someone else.
One of the biggest telltale signs that you have lost the love in your relationship is when you start daydreaming or fantasizing about being with another person. It’s not just you thinking about what life would be like outside of your relationship. You even go as far as to start thinking about what life would be like in a relationship with someone else. And that just goes to show how bad things have gotten between you and your significant other.
8. You feel emotionally drained because of your relationship.
You are always just so tired all of the time because of your relationship. It has been so much of a chore for you that it has caused immense stress in your life, and it’s the kind of stress that you are no longer able to tolerate or deal with. You’ve lost patience for your relationship and you don’t really want to have much to do with it anymore.
9. You have lost all sense of trust in your relationship.
You don’t trust one another. You no longer act like a team. Both of you get the sense that neither of you has each other’s backs at this point. And you’re practically just two individuals who are living a sad life alongside one another.
10. You are no longer interested in fixing the problems with your relationship.
You know that your relationship is far from perfect. You know that your relationship is not without its fair share of problems. In fact, you know that there are PLENTY of issues that are surrounding your relationship. And yet, neither of you feel a sense of urgency. Neither of you feels like you have to do much of anything to fix the problems in your relationship. You know at the back of your minds that your relationship is going to come to an end anyway, and it would be a waste of time for you to still be dwelling on your problems.
Relationships are hard to maintain, some work out till the end and some fail no matter how two people work on them. This one is for those of you who think you’re living a lie, those of you who think you’re “dragging the relationship” or are “being dragged with someone”. This is about the harsh realities that all of us have to face at least once in our lives, the harsh realities of the fact that we don’t always get what we want no matter how badly we may want it. If your relationships matches more than three signs, you need to sit and talk about it and see where it goes.
10. You fight constantly over measly and petty issues
Two people who care about each other and respect each other tend to ignore measly problems and small issues for the love of their partners. They have a lot of patience for their partners and they don’t want them to get into any arguments with them, they try to avoid arguments with everything they have. But when a relationship is dying, people lose their level of patience and they don’t think twice before fighting over the smallest of things.
9. You don’t think of them before taking big steps anymore
When two people are in love with each other, they make sure that their love plays a big part in the important steps of their lives, they make sure that their partners are involved in every big decision they take and every big life plan they make. But when love starts dying, we start thinking for ourselves without keeping our partners in mind because they don’t have the same position in our minds anymore. This leads to a lot of fights and a lot of taunts like “You don’t even think of me anymore”.
8. You consume your time in other things more
When two people are in love and are happy with each other, they tend to take out as much time as they can for each other regardless of how busy they are, because love cannot be bothered with busy schedules and no one is busy when it comes to sentiments and feelings. When people start falling out of love, they tend to occupy themselves in other activities more, they tend to do more things that would make them busy and keep them at a distance with their partners. It feels like even the smallest of activities are more important than trying to plan a meetup with your partner.
7. The future doesn’t matter to you anymore
When people are in love, their main motive and goal is to spend a life together; spending a happy life together is the ultimate goal of every relationship. But when love fades away, the future doesn’t really matter anymore because you aren’t as hopeful about it as you once were. So you don’t plan things anymore, you don’t save anymore and you just live life each day as it comes.
6. You find yourself taking interest in other people
It’s natural to be charmed by someone even when you’re in a relationship, but it’s a completely different think when can sometimes imagine a life with those people and think of how different things would had been had it been them. This happens because your heart isn’t completely a hundred percent in that relationship anymore and it’s looking for happiness and peace elsewhere.
5. You start remembering their mistakes
People in love tend to let things go for the sake of their relationships. They let go of the fights and forget the arguments and continue working for a better and happier future. But when love fades away, even the smallest of fight is remembered and you may use it against them during another fight. This is a very destructive thing to do because the fights never end and the couple is found stuck within a vicious cycle of fights and heated arguments and they can’t remember the last time they were “just okay” with each other.
4. You can’t discuss your feelings without having an argument
This is a continuation to my last point, when two people start falling out of love, they tend to develop a fear of sentimental discussions. They don’t want to talk about their feelings because every little topic leads to a fight. This is highly destructive because open communication is a vital part of every long-lasting and happy relationship and people can’t be happy with each other without having complete transparency when it comes to letting the feelings out.
3. “Emotional Silence”
People who are truly in love are very emotional and affectionate about each other. Their actions and their words are filled with emotions and affection. But when love falls out of place, the affection starts dying and the emotions start fading away. You think twice before saying anything sweet because you think your feelings aren’t being cherished and you’re just wasting your emotions on someone who’d just ignore them. This leads to a condition I call “Emotional Silence”.
2. You’re not proud of having them anymore
When someone asks me about my girlfriend, I very happily and proudly tell them about how happy I am to have her in my life. This is because that’s what love does to you, it gives you a very different feeling of pride because of your partner and the love you share together. You don’t think twice before putting up nice pictures with them and talking about them with family and friends. But when love starts dying, people don’t feel the same pride anymore and they tend to ignore the topic of their relationships. They usually say “it’s complicated” or “we are working on it.”.
1. You don’t get scared at the thought of a breakup
The thought of a breakup makes me shiver, it has the same effect on people who are madly in love with each other and are in a happy relationship together. If you’re at a stage in your relationship where you just don’t fear a breakup happening, you’re completely damaged in that relationship and it doesn’t really matter to you.
Talk about it
Do you feel any of these signs in your relationship? Talk about it in the comments below. And as always, stay blessed and keep the love alive!
Sorry. Love isn’t a first-class ticket to some wondrous place where you and your lover can just live out the rest of your days without any struggle or worry. Love does not work like a fairytale or some kind of fantasy where nothing seemingly goes wrong and perpetual happiness is guaranteed to you. It’s never like that at all. You’re not going to have a love story that is going to be without your fair share of fights and disagreements. You aren’t going to be without your fair share of screwups, trials, and tribulations.
There are plenty of challenges that you are going to have to hurdle on your path to happily ever after. There really is no such thing as having a blemish-free romance. All relationships are going to have their share of imperfections and problems. That’s not something that you are going to be able to avoid. There is no such thing as a relationship that is going to be free from pain, disappointment, and the occasional heartache.
But that is totally fine. That really isn’t something that you need to be worried about. You don’t really need to have that fairytale kind of romance for your love to be valid. In fact, the raw imperfect nature of your love is what makes it real. That’s what makes it exciting. If love didn’t have its share of challenges, then it would be incredibly boring. The very fact that love is so difficult is what makes it so precious. Nothing in this life worth having ever comes easily. And the best things in this life are always worth fighting for – most especially love.
You don’t need to have a fairytale narrative for you to be happy in your relationship. You just need to be with someone who really understands who you are and accepts you for your genuine self. You need to be with a partner who gets that things aren’t always going to be fine and dandy. You need to be with someone who is ready to face the challenges that you might encounter in your journey of love. You just have to be with someone who knows that it isn’t always going to be easy, and yet they take that leap of faith anyway.
You need to be with a person who is going to hold your hand during the darkest moments of your life; someone who is never going to leave your side just because things start to get difficult. You need to be with someone who is going to love you even when you are at your worst; someone whose love and passion are going to be unwavering. You need to be with someone who is humble enough to know that they are imperfect themselves; someone who is self-aware enough to know that there is always room for growth and improvement. You need someone who is going to own up to their faults and apologize whenever necessary; someone who is always going to do whatever it takes to better themselves for the sake of your love and the relationship.
You have to know that it doesn’t matter how stable your career might be, how successful you are, or how much money you might have in your bank account. That doesn’t make you immune to troubles and turmoil in your relationship. You are still very much vulnerable as a couple. You still can’t be complacent. You still can’t be taking one another for granted. You have to prepare yourself for the unknown and unknowable. You have to know that there will be some hurdles along the way that you will never be able to anticipate or look out for. And that’s when your relationship is really going to be tested. That’s when you will really discover just how strong your relationship really is.
Love is never going to be just rainbows and sunny days. No matter how much you love one another, you aren’t always going to be able to see things eye to eye. You aren’t always going to be on the same page. You are going to have your arguments and disagreements because you are both unique individuals who have your own distinct personalities.
And that’s perfectly natural. Just know that the strength of a relationship isn’t defined by how little or how much they fight and argue. It’s not about how they are able to avoid conflicts and disagreements. No. You can determine the strength of a couple with how well they are able to manage these conflicts and setbacks; with how well they are able to deal with these problems and trials.
That’s what love is about. You’re always going to have to fight for it. But in the end, you know that it’s always going to be worth it.
You shouldn’t fall in love with him because he is only going to leave you behind. He isn’t the kind of guy who would be looking to just wait around for you. He’s going to tackle life at his own pace. Sometimes, that means that he’s going to be willing to go faster than you. And if you can’t keep up, then he wouldn’t really be afraid of leaving you in the dust.
2. Taurus (April 20 – May 21)
A Taurus can be many things in the world but easy is definitely not one of them. They are going to have a really stubborn and complicated personality. Yes, they can be very loyal and passionate lovers. However, they can also be a real struggle to deal with. At the end of the day, they are an acquired taste, and not everyone is going to be able to put up with them.
3. Gemini (May 22 – June 21)
You might not want to fall in love with a Gemini given that they get bored fairly easily. As a Gemini, he’s going to have a tendency to give you a lot of love and attention for a short period of time. But then, when he gets bored with you, he’s going to move on to the next thing that gives him a high. This might not bode well for you. You’re going to need some really thick skin if you will be with him.
4. Cancer (June 22 – July 22)
Don’t fall in love with a Cancer if you won’t be willing to take care of him. Yes, he’s going to be a great lover and an empathetic companion. However, he’s going to want you to give the same kind of effort that he does when it comes to taking care of one another. And a lot of the time, this can be a lot to ask from a single person.
5. Leo (July 23 – August 22)
The one reason that you shouldn’t fall in love with a Leo is if you know you wouldn’t be able to handle his pride. Given that he is a Leo, he’s going to be someone who wouldn’t be afraid of putting his own needs and his own desires above the relationship’s. He is never going to be able to set his ego aside completely. And you’re going to have to learn to put up with that.
6. Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Don’t fall in love with a Virgo if you won’t be willing to put yourself through the hoops for them. As a Virgo, they aren’t really going to be happy with being in a regular relationship that is chill and easy. They have high standards. He is going to demand the best of you. And you always have to show that you’re willing to step up to the plate.
7. Libra (September 23 – October 22)
The fickleness of the Libra’s personality might be really irritating to deal with in the relationship. When you get into a relationship with a Libra, you have to make sure that you are willing to take the lead and establish the control in the relationship. They aren’t really one who is known to take the initiative. He will look to you to make all of the decisions.
8. Scorpio (October 23 – November 22)
Being the Scorpio that he is, you know that he’s going to be oozing with sex appeal. He is going to make himself completely irresistible towards you. However, you’re going to have to prepare yourself for some pretty intense mood swings. You can never really predict where a Scorpio guy is going to take his emotions. And you need to be able to handle that.
9. Sagittarius (November 23 – December 21)
He is going to have one foot out the door when you first get into a relationship. His lack of commitment as a Sagittarius might be a serious cause for concern when it comes to falling in love with him.
10. Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)
He might deprioritize the relationship every once in a while because he is a Capricorn. You have to be okay with the fact that you aren’t always going to be the priority in his life. He is going to place a lot of premium on his hopes and dreams.
11. Aquarius (January 21 – February 18)
Get ready to do a lot of reading if you’re going to fall in love with an Aquarius. He is an incredibly smart guy and he isn’t going to want to settle for a girl who can’t be his equal. He isn’t going to be able to respect you if you don’t present yourself as someone who can keep up with him. It might be a lot of work, but at least you always have something new to learn.
12. Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
He is a daydreamer, and that’s when it can get really irritating when you fall in love with him. He has a great tendency to be naïve. You have to be the one who reels him back into reality.
The human brain is a very complex entity. There are so many things that we are learning about the brain every single day. And as it turns out, the brain can actually be really self-destructive at times.
It can engage in toxic behavior almost naturally and we really need to police ourselves in that respect. It can be very easy to just fixate all of our attention on another human being especially when you know that the feeling is mutual. However, it can also be very unhealthy to do so.
According to Dr. Femke Buisman-Pijlman, Ph.D., an expert researcher in addiction and health sciences at the University of Adelaide in Australia, falling in love can feel almost the same as taking your first drug or taste of alcohol.
“When you [first] fall in love, you can feel ecstatic like with initial drug or alcohol use,” says Buisman-Pijlman. She goes on to add, “When the thrill of new love subsides, you could be left with a psychological dependence where you think you need the other person.”
A relationship expert with more than 40 years’ worth of experience named Margaret Paul, Ph. D. happens to share the same sentiment. “We can get addicted to people just as we can to alcohol or food,” says Paul. “It’s a form of self-abandonment where you use another person to avoid responsibility for your feelings,” Paul claims that whenever you fall in love with someone, you are in danger of losing your sense of self. And whenever that happens, it can compromise your mental health, professional life, and other social relationships.
If you want to know whether you’re addicted to your partner to an almost unhealthy level, then you just need to stay on the lookout for these signs. If a lot of the things on this list actually apply to you, then it’s likely that you are addicted to your partner.
1. You are always looking for your partner in a compulsive manner to the point that you are miserable.
You obsess over where your partner’s whereabouts are. You are always trying to figure out where your partner is because you just can’t seem to put your mind at ease unless you’re fully aware of their activities.
2. You have sex with your partner during inappropriate moments.
If you and your partner are always having sex, that isn’t necessarily a problem. However, it can be problematic when you’re having sex during inappropriate moments in the most inappropriate places.
3. You break your own rules and boundaries in your relationship.
You know that you are addicted to your relationship when you set rules for it but you end up breaking them anyway. If you can’t even respect the boundaries that you set for your own self, then you know that your better judgment is being compromised.
4. You spend too much of your cash on your relationship.
You know that you’re very addicted to your relationship when you are spending too much cash on it. You can’t be financially irresponsible for the sake of your relationship. That’s a very poor way to go about sustaining a life and relationship.
5. You find it difficult to be happy without your partner.
You shouldn’t really have too much trouble trying to find happiness in your life outside of your relationship. You need to always be able to find other things to be happy about. Otherwise, you are placing too much pressure on your relationship. And that is a very deliberate sign of addiction.
6. Your sense of self-worth is dependent on your relationship.
You should never be tying your sense of self-worth to your relationship. You should always be living a life for yourself that you could be proud of. You always have to make sure that you can be proud of yourself regardless if you’re in a relationship or not.
7. You only ever feel alive when the two of you are together.
The only time you ever feel like you are alive is when the two of you are together. Not to say that it’s bad for you to feel alive when you are with your partner. But it’s definitely bad when it’s the ONLY time that you feel alive.
8. You are deathly afraid of being alone.
If you find yourself being so afraid of being alone, then that could be a sign that you are addicted to your relationship. You have become so dependent on your relationship that you are now so afraid of whatever the alternative is going to be.
9. You neglect your other responsibilities because your relationship takes too much of your time.
You know that you are addicted to your relationship whenever you start acting like the other aspects of your life just don’t exist anymore. You have practically made the relationship your entire life and you don’t really devote any time or energy to anything else.
Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a true dad. Any man can just bring life into this world. But it takes someone special to care for, nurture, mentor, and love. There are so many fathers out there in the world. But there are only a few real dads out there who are actually worthy of the title.
A true dad isn’t just someone who is rich and famous and is able to buy his family everything they want. A true dad isn’t just someone who would be able to bring his family to all the most luxurious tourist destinations in the world. He isn’t someone who would be able to buy the most lavish and expensive gifts during every trip to the mall. A true dad isn’t just someone who is able to send his kids to the most exclusive schools.
A true dad CAN be all of those things, but those aren’t the things that would define him. A true dad is only defined by how much he values family over any other thing in life. A true dad is someone who understands that it’s important to always prioritize the family above other things in life. A true dad is someone who always makes sure that he’s there for his family whenever they need him. He is someone who is never going to make his family feel abandoned. He is the kind of dad who would always show up for his kids and his wife whenever they need him.
A true dad isn’t going to abandon his family just because times get rough. He isn’t going to let his kids down when they need him to step up. He is the kind of dad who would never give up on his family no matter how heavy of a burden or load he has to carry on his back. He is the kind of dad who would do anything that it would take to keep his family afloat and happy.
A true dad is someone who is always going to show a willingness to invest most of his time, energy, attention, and effort into his family. It doesn’t matter how tired, exhausted, drained, or busy he is with other things. He is always going to try to make sure that he is accessible and available to his kids. He is the kind of guy who would always be willing to put himself outside of his comfort zone just so his kids know that he’s always there.
A true dad is someone who is always going to be willing to make sacrifices for his family. He is someone who is always going to place the needs of his family above his own. He is someone who always wants to do his best to secure the safety and happiness of his family. And even if that means that he will have to give up a few of his wants and desires, he’s going to do it. He is always going to prioritize his family’s overall happiness above his own personal selfish needs.
A true dad is someone who is always going to show his kids the power of unconditional love. He is always going to be willing to shower his kids with a lot of valuable life lessons. He is always going to prove to them that true love exists in this world – and that he is the perfect proof for it. If he is going to have sons, he’s going to teach them what it really means to be a true gentleman. He will show his sons how to treat women and how to stand up for themselves against bullies. If he’s going to have daughters, he’s going to love and protect them with all of his might. He’s going to teach them to never settle. He’s going to show them that men are capable of great love and that they just have to make sure to choose the right one.
A true dad is always going to invest himself in the lives of his kids. He is always going to know what his kids’ passions are. He’s going to want to know their favorite hobbies, singers, interests, goals, and dreams are. He’s going to want to know what they think about when they fantasize about their own lives. A true dad is someone who is going to be someone who would do whatever it takes to make sure that his kids have a happy and meaningful life.
Not a lot of people are going to be lucky enough to be raised by true dads. That is why if a lot of the things here apply to your own dad, then you better be thankful. He’s one in a million, and you need to show him your appreciation.
